Metal Technological Center

The Metal Technological Center of Murcia is built as a non-profit private corporate association having been recognized by the Ministry of Science and Technology in 2002 as a Center of Innovation and Technology (registration number 66), it also has a Research Results Transfer Office OTRI (registration number 128). It is a founding member of the Federation of Innovation and Technology Centers of the Region of Murcia (CITEM) and belongs to the Web of Technological Centers of the Region of Murcia (CECOTEC-INFO).

The Metal Technological Center works in diverse sectors through its departments and labs:

  • Agricultural accessories
  • Steel, tubes and Profiling (manufacturing)
  • Industrial automatism and electrical installations
  • Heating and air conditioning
  • Industrial equipment
  • Metallic shelves
  • Metallic structures, boiler making and metallic carpentry
  • Manufacturer of metallic packaging
  • Greenhouses. Manufacturing, sale, etc.
  • Injection and extrusion of plastic
  • Agricultural machinery. Manufacturing, sale, etc.
  • Machinery for elevation and transportation
  • Phytosanitary machinery. Manufacturing, sale, etc.
  • Industrial machinery
  • Machinery for canned goods and food
  • Construction machinery
  • Tooling and die-cutting
  • Machining and décolletage
  • Safety against fires, fire extinguishers, etc.
  • Services and maintenance

The Metal Technological Center and its workers orientate their activity towards achieving the following goals:

1. Reaching a high level of excellence, being a national and international reference in at least two areas of competence, which will be defined by the Board of Directors following the corporate demand.

2. Meeting the partner companies’ demands with utmost efficacy, being at the same time efficient with the use of the available resources.

3. Consolidating the horizontal nature of the Center, tending to the needs and demands of other productive sectors.

4. Individually knowing the technological needs, the people and the innovative potential of the partner companies.

5. Appropriately knowing and managing the offer of scientific-technological knowledge available in companies, research organizations and other technological centers.

6. Reaching the maximum resources from the Public Administration in order for them to practically reverse in the partner companies, either directly or indirectly through activities, services or projects.

7. Implementing a management model based on the European model for quality (EFQM)

8. Implementing a knowledge management system that promotes both the personal and professional development of the people that integrate the Center.

9. Reaching the necessary knowledge in the competence sectors of the Center, through the collaboration with companies, research organizations and other technological centers.

10. Making the people who work at the Center to be the most prepared technologically in their respective professional areas, being motivated by their job and proud of belonging in the Center.
